Years ago,

Rhonda pieced a quilt. It sat a very long time in the closet in the studio waiting for her to add a top and bottom border and quilt the quilt. She even had the backing pieced and ready to go.

See how lovely it looks on my bed? I took the quilt, added the borders, and test drove one of my new boards on it.

Doesn't it great such fabulous texture? It's a brand new board called Egyptian Eye.

The quilt looks so happy on our bed. And I am happy with how easy this quilt was for me to make lol.

It's been a busy week

In the studio. I finished this stunning quilt for Sheila yesterday.

Sheila chose the pantograph Featheration and I think it was a perfect choice.

There is just something about feathers.

Hope you have a lovely weekend. I have a few things of my own in the works for the weekend; I'll show you next week!

Keeping quilting affordable

I had a client come in the other day and as I was intaking her quilt, she mentioned that there was/is a new longarm quilter in our area that had lower prices than ours.

After the client left, Rhonda and I went over our listed prices and here's what we came up with.

When the BC government brought in the HST tax(combination of the federal tax and provincial tax), we decided to reduce the price on some of our pantographs. We decided that we would leave these pantos at a lower price to make it more affordable for our clients to complete their quilts.

Just to give you an idea on the discount prices, we offer a double(full) quilt to be quilted for $80(before tax). Once we break that cost down(to determine what a quilt will cost for quilting, you multiply the length by width than multiply that by what the longarmer charges per square inch); a double quilt works out to 11cents per square inch! That equals roughly $30 off our regular pricing. A queen quilt works out to 12.5 cents per square inch at only $100. That is a bargain! And these pantos are nice pantos; we currently have 16 in the 'discount drawer' and are adding a few more this fall.

Curious about meandering? That's 18cents per square inch.

With our regular pantographs, we also offer a 10% discount for seniors, new clients and members of (any) quilt guild.

Also, we offer no charge for trimming your quilt once it is quilted and as of July 15th, we are going back to our no thread charge(for regular quilting only. There is thread charges for custom quilting).

Rhonda and I pride ourselves on our work and the quality that goes into our quilting. We love making, and keeping!!, quilting affordable and helping you finish your quilts. And we just might be planning up a new discount starting this fall. Stay tuned.

Dave and I went camping

And as usual, I packed some things to keep myself busy.

Before we left, I did manage to finally quilt my Storm at Sea quilt.

I started this quilt so many years ago. I had planned on making it king-sized for our bed but I used the rest of the fabrics up in other projects lol. It is nice to finally have it finished. I quilted it with my favorite Circle Lord Board, water.
