Sorry about the disappearing act; we had put off a camping trip because of the funeral so we took off last week instead.

When I last posted, I had mentioned finishing a quilt of my own but was waiting to get the binding finished before I showed it. Well, here it is.

Because of the colours, I couldn't decide how to quilt this so I kept it simple and went with straight lines.

I had used up all the green fabric in making the quilt and I was lucky enough to find some in the store to use as binding.

Now to find a spot to put it!

This week

Is one I wish was over. Last week my nephew passed away suddenly. He was only 15yrs old. The funeral is this Saturday and I have spent the past few days in what feels like a daze.

I have found that quilting is keeping me sidetracked; I even got something of my own finished. Once I get the binding done, I'll show that. But first, this lovely quilt by Victoria.

Veronica requested the pattern Petaluma;  a perfect compliment to the softness of the quilt.

Pastel Beauty

Laurel made this lovely quilt.

It was quite large and difficult for me to get a good picture.

The fabrics just begged to be feathered so I went with Bountiful Feathers for the quilting.
Doesn't the quilting look fabulous on the backing?

So lovely.

Thank you for entrusting me with your quilt Laurel!

Quiltie Finishes

I finally got a quilt for myself finished. I can't even remember when I first bought this quilt kit and now it is finally finished for me to enjoy.

I went with a water-stitch for the quilting.
I love how it works with the applique.

I debated quilting some spines onto the umbrella but I like how it looks with no quilting.

A fun multi-print batik binding.

This just makes me happy!

And something just for me!

How is it June already?

Thankfully things have slowed down in the studio. I'm planning on getting a few of my things done this month. I have quilt tops dating back years that have been waiting to get quilted.

Dina and Luciena did a Thangles block of the month quilt together.

Dina did her's in a Basic Gray line.

So pretty.
Because the quilt is smaller, we used a sashing panto for the quilting called Snapdragon.

Luciena's quilt was quilted with Double Plume.

So pretty.

I love how just changing fabrics can change the look of a quilt.
